Message to our candidates from Cordant People
In the midst of the uncertainty around Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to let you know what we are doing to protect you, our candidates.
We’re working hard to continue to deliver uninterrupted service to both you and the client’s that we service and you work for, to keep businesses functioning and people in work.
We have followed the government’s advice and all of our internal staff who can work from home, are doing so.
This may mean that some of our branch locations are closed; however the teams are still working remotely and are at the end of the phone should you need us.
We advise all of our candidates to follow government and NHS advice, specifically around hand-washing and hygiene, social distancing and self-isolation if necessary.
If you have any concerns about your role or if you are presenting with symptoms, please get in touch with your Cordant People branch immediately so we can advise you on how to proceed.
Should there be any changes to your working arrangements communicated to us from your temporary assignment we will endeavour to advise you of this as soon as we can. Below you can also find a list of FAQs which may answer some of your questions.
The situation we find ourselves in is unprecedented and rapidly changing, so please be assured that we are working hard to keep our eye on all developments and will keep you updated as and when things change.
Cordant People Recruitment
Q: Are your branches still open?
A: We have closed our branches to restrict physical contact however we are still contactable via email and phone. Find your local Cordant People branch here.
Q: Have you changed the way you hire people?
A: Yes we have altered our processes and are utilising our technology platforms to deliver virtual hiring via telephone screening, video interviews and online assessments, minimising the amount of face-to-face contact where possible.
Q: What do I do if I feel unwell?
A: If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 then please stay at home and contact your Cordant People branch to inform them of your illness and inability to work.
Q: If I have to self isolate, will I get paid?
A: If you are ill, have symptoms of coronavirus, or have been advised to self-isolate by the NHS you can be off work for 7 days without a sick note.
If you have COVID-19 or have been advised to stay at home then you can get an ‘isolation note’ by visiting NHS 111 Website, rather than visiting a doctor. This replaces the usual need to provide a ‘sick note’ after 7 days of sickness absence. Where an isolation note is provided, SSP will be payable from day one of the absence. Normal SSP rules apply to any other sickness absence.
Q: What resources do you have during this time?
A: We have resources for both candidates and clients looking to navigate their way through the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether you’re looking for information on training and development, motivation for working from home or ways to meet your recruitment needs, we have a way to help. Head to our COVID-19 Career Tools to find out more.
