We are currently recruiting for an Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join one of our manufacturing clients in Blackpool.
Accounts and Payroll Assistant Responsibilities:
- Match supplier invoices to delivery notes and check values to purchase order
- Liaise with warehouse or purchasing department to investigate any discrepancies before referring to Accounts Manager
- Input supplier invoices on accounting software using correct nominal and VAT code
- Set up new suppliers on software
- Input supplier payments on software after being approved by Accounts Manager and process payments on bank
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Check bank daily for customer receipts
- Process recurring bank transactions
- Handle and reconcile petty cash
- Reconcile bank statements monthly
- Process fortnightly payroll
- Submit RTI to HMRC and Pension data to workplace pension provider
- Input and maintain accurate employee records
- Maintain both manual filing system and documents scanned on company server
- Assist in annual archiving
- Send Intrastat information to HMRC monthly
- Produce and submit quarterly VAT 100
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Payroll and Accounting Software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Good communication & personal organisation
- Pro-active
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- AAT Level 3 (Desirable)
