Hartlepool, County Durham Accountancy Posted 19.07.19 £18000 - £19000 per annum

My client is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant based in Hartlepool on a permanent basis

The main purpose of the role is to manage and maintain sales ledger accounts including credit control, to include all aspects of a sales ledger account from the account application process, the opening of individual accounts, posting and allocating payments received from debtors and maintaining the accounts with any updates received from our customers.

Duties:

PURCHASE LEDGER

  • Checking and input of purchase invoices for goods received
  • Checking, coding and input of invoices for services received
  • Account reconciliation
  • Resolving queries and proactively requesting assistance from other departments when required
  • Raising debit note claims to manufacturers
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

SALES LEDGER/CREDIT CONTROL

  • Daily reconciliation and posting of money received via our own drivers onto the sales ledger
  • Posting and allocation of credit card payments received via our Credit Controllers onto the sales ledger
  • Posting and allocation of cheques received from debtors onto the sales ledger
  • Opening new accounts upon receipt of approved application forms
  • Letters to customers following account opening process
  • Updating customer accounts with any necessary amendments received
  • Chasing debts due to the company by telephone, email and written communications
  • Ad-hoc tasks as allocated by the Financial Controller
