CNC Grinder – Programmer/Setter/Operator
The CNC Grinder – Programmer/Setter/Operator will run, set and operate cylinder and/or external/surface grinding machines using Fanuc/Siemens control systems. They will be responsible for setting and producing components to operator layout sheets as provided.
The Programmer/Setter/Operator will make adjustments to tool offsets and program editing. They will be working on highly technical products to tight tolerances and strict quality standards. The Programmer/Setter/Operator will inspect and rework parts as specified by the Quality Assurance Department.
Programming, setting and operating cylinder external/internal surface and centreless grinding machines to produce products to meet customer’s specifications and production standards.
Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, standards, geometrical tolerances and surface finishes.
To ensure all components are machined to within the component drawing dimensions and tolerances.
To ensure all processes are performed in the most efficient manner and within the set cycle times.
Ability to prove out and inspect First Off components.
Conduct Stage Inspections of detailed machined components.
Resolves problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
Conduct visual quality inspections.
Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.
Start and observe on-going machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or changes tools as needed.
Completion of appropriate documentation for all operations
Liaising with the management and production engineers to maximise the efficient running of the machines.
Skills and Experience required:
Proven experience in a similar role with proven understanding of precision machining and grinding
Experience using either Jones & Shipman, Jainnher or Robbi Omicron grinding machines.
Experience in programming, setting and operating grinding machines using Fanuc/Siemens control systems (Desirable).
Manufacturing experience within a medical/aerospace industry (Desirable).
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Comfortable working to deadlines and tolerances.
Experienced working in a fast paced environment.
