Head Chef

£30,000 – £35,000 p.a (depending on experience)

We are proud to represent a young yet dynamic independent gastro pub / restaurant based in the city centre. My client is looking for an experienced Head Chef to to take full control of the kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior sous chef to take lead but with a strong catering background and the artistic flair. You will be in complete control of adapting the menu, modernising it seasonally and working very close with suppliers ensuring GP% is met and the costs are low.

The Role:

  • Lead junior chefs and train where necessary
  • Stock management
  • Health & Safety accountable
  • Daily recording of temperatures and dates
  • Team management
  • Clean stations daily
  • Cost control

About You:

  • Well presented
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Able to retain and recruit team
  • Casual dining back ground
  • Experience with menu creations
  • Have great flair when it comes artistically designing plates
  • Works well within a team

This is a chance to shine! This role is for someone that is looking to take full control of the kitchen and work very much in sync with the General Manager and FOH team. This is a very much hands on role where you will be expected to have full accountability over everything that goes on in the kitchen. Must be approachable and able to adapt when situations get tough.
