HOUSEKEEPING ASSISTANT £8.72 p/h

I am currently recruiting for 5 positions as a Housekeeping assistant. This is a full time and permanent role offering 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm and every other Saturday with an alternative day off during the week

  • Assisting with the Housekeeping service as set out in the Housekeeping Manual, COSHH and Health and Safety Manuals; presenting a smart, polite and professional image at all times. Carrying out duties in the most cost-effective and efficient way, demonstrating all due care to safer practice for children and for all relevant Health and Safety legislation

Main Duties

  • Working as part of the Housekeeping team providing an efficient and effective service to a broad range of customers, understanding their needs and working to meet these wherever possible
  • Undertaking Housekeeping duties in all areas of the Trust to cater for students,community and guests, in a polite and helpful manner
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of all areas carrying out work activities in adherence to the area specific cleaning schedule or rota
  • Deliver standards of Housekeeping in line with the Service Level Agreement auditing score rating of 70% +
  • Self- management to ensure best use of time and resources
  • Carrying out Low Use Flushing as required and recording it appropriately
  • Reporting of accidents and near misses
  • Maintaining sufficient stock levels of chemicals and consumables
  • Pre-start checks on equipment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the area
  • Adherence to Safe Systems of Work, PPE, COSHH, Risk Assessments and Manual Handling
  • Preparing for, and assisting at, special functions
  • Presenting the client in a positive light, assisting in the retention and growth of all business areas
  • Assisting colleagues in the delivery of a first class service with due regard for legal, financial and time constraints
  • Attending training sessions and meetings as required
  • Assisting Laundry team when required and be prepared to drive company vehicle
  • Undertaking any reasonable requests made by managers and commensurate to the role

Due to the nature of the role you will need to be able to pass an enhanced DBS

Knowledge and experience

  • Have an awareness of Health & Safety in the work place
  • Have an awareness of customer service skills
  • Previous experience in Housekeeping
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Satisfy all criteria and checks relating to suitability to work in a school
  • environment
  • Hold full and clean UK driving license
  • Be reliable, dependable and flexible
  • Have a clean and tidy appearance
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Be friendly, approachable and have a good sense of humour
  • An empathy for the works of the Monastic Community
  • A good level of English

Your own transport is needed as the client is based in a rural area

  • Salary and Conditions of Employment (subject to contract):
  • Rate of pay £8.72 per hour

  • Annual Leave: 22 days (rising to 27 days) per annum in addition to public holidays
  • Probationary period: 6 months
