Industrial Engineering Manager
to £54000 with full package of benefits
A dedicated industrial engineer, this position will map current manufacturing methods and productivity from which identify issues and implement new process to improve yield, quality, reliability and costs. The role requires strong communication and project management skills coupled with proven experience influencing staff at all levels to gain buy in to changes. An excellent opportunity for a dedicated engineering professional who passionate about manufacturing improvements using WCM techniques.
Duties for the Industrial Engineering Manager are:
Working closely with engineers and the shop floor staff : prepare work scopes, estimate activities, production schedules and analyse other related work packages
From the data propose and implement solutions for long-term reliability
Investigate ways to optimise final cost and performance by implementing corrective actions, this will require working closely with internal teams and customers
Analyse staff levels in all areas of the production cycle and finished goods, and seeking ways to implement robust process to eliminate variations and anomalies
Take an active role in the development and implementation of Quality appraisals for new & existing installations
Analyse plants safety and reliability and seek ways to improve reliability whilst adhering to the economic factors.
Monitor and analyse KPI’s and use the data for process improvement and quality purposes.
Contribute to the assessment of economic budgets on projects WCM and / or proposal of improvement of product / process. Monitor the performance of the labour force by promoting improved actions for increased productivity.
Qualifications and experience for the Industrial Engineering manager are:
Graduate level or similar within Production, Engineering based degree or similar
Strong effective communication skills
Proven ability to identify and correct production issues
Proven experience mapping current productivity and implementing improvements within cost, logistics, process and increased productivity
Previous experience gained within a WCM World Class manufacturing environment
Six Sigma certification would be highly desirable
Experience with SPC and other quality factors
Knowledge of themes relating to manufacturing cycle optimisation and to use labour
Excellent communication skills
Able to work under pressure
Salary up to £54000
37.5 hour week although at this level flexibility is essential including occasional weekend working
