Operations and HR Manager
Near Maldon

Our client, a family run manufacturing company are looking for a new member of staff to join their Senior Management team.

We are seeking individuals with a strong HR bias; having previous exposure to handling disciplinaries in the workplace and a background in operations. Experience dealing with ISO 9001 audits, HR duties including recruitment and health and safety across the business are key.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join a company where they will be instrumental in the development of the business in the coming years.


  • Manage and oversee audits for ISO standards held
  • Health and Safety: Support Director with overall responsibility for H&S with ensuring legal and expected standards in line with BS OHAS 18001
  • Manage and ensure all necessary insurances are held, relevant and updated as required in line with changes to the business
  • Management of renewals
  • Hold policies and procedures meetings, minutes and manage actions
  • Main point of contact for HR issues (assisted by external agent)
  • Workforce Planning and management
  • Talent recognition, assessment and development (L&D Plans)
  • Book and organise training, manage company Training Matrix
  • New Staff Contracts of Employment/Offer Letters, inductions and leavers paperwork
  • Apprentice agreements and Mentor contact for Colleges
  • Disciplinary situations – all relevant correspondence/hearings.
  • Organise bi-monthly staff appraisals
  • Handling all aspects of recruitment
  • Manage and review the company’s H&S policies and procedures in line with changes within the business and as per ISO Management System
  • Investigate and record all accidents and/or Near Misses ensuring 360′ review
  • Completion of all company COSHH assessments
  • Completion and annual review of all company internal RAMS
  • PPE stock take, ordering and distribution
  • On site safety compliance
  • Manage and respond to all incoming and outgoing supplier questionnaires
  • Create and design all new company documentation
  • Complete supplier framework applications
  • Manage and review the company’s H&S, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures in line with changes within the business and as per ISO Management System


  • Exposure to HR duties such as disciplinary processes
  • Experience working within a management level role
  • Exposure to COSHH and Risk Assessments
  • Previous experience working towards or supporting with achieving ISO 9001
  • Own transport essential due to location
