Permanent role

A highly skilled Production and Materials controller is required to take full responsibility for the smooth planning and control of materials and production for this busy and expanding manufacturing company. Managing a team of 7, you will accurately plan production to meet with international sales orders, and control the flow of materials to meet with these schedules. A background within a similar environment where you can show proven team building skills, which in turn have shown continued improvements to all areas of production and materials flow:

Duties for the Production and Materials Controller are:

To effectively schedule production to meet with the demands of customer orders and ensure materials flow smoothly to meet with these demands:

  • Utilising the international sales forecasts and orders to effectively plan production and manage the flow of materials from international suppliers
  • Manage a team of 7 staff within materials, production planning activities
  • Effectively schedule production to meet with sales orders and to maximise the use of staff and machinery
  • Constant liaison with purchasing to understand any material shortages
  • Re-schedule production when necessary to prevent bottlenecks due to material shortages
  • Work closely with the production team to provide support queries and problems regarding plans and material flow
  • Liaison with vendors in the UK and overseas regarding materials flow
  • Analyse current methods within both materials flow and production plan and seek ways to improvements
  • Ensure the ERP system is updated regularly and accurately giving confidence to all users

    Skills and experience

    Proven experience managing a team within production scheduling and materials control
    Competent user and developer of ERP system
    Qualified to CIPS or similar would be ideal
    Excellent communication and organisation skills
    Team builder
    Working with International teams

    In return
    Salary to c£40000
    28 days holiday – (20days holiday plus 8 bank)
    5% pension
